Thigh high boots

Yeah it’s true, if you’re still in denial that Labor Day happened and summer is practically over, perhaps the drop in temperatures and the addition of pumpkin spice to every menu might bring you back to reality. My favorite thing about this season despite the fact that it only lasts two seconds, is the layering. And of course being able to wear thigh high everything. This look is inspired by that line from the Devil Wears Prada where Meryl Streep goes “florals for spring? How groundbreaking” in her sarcastic voice.  What’s really groundbreaking are florals for autumn.  It’s nothing new, it’s been done before. But many of us weren’t paying attention the first time so here it is, revamped in Silverfawn edition.

Style Tip: when rocking autumn florals opt for earth tones such as grey, burgundy, olive green, and navy.

Cropped Tuesday

Silk button down similar

Similar cropped pants

Similar chrome heels

It has been a while since I took a risk with my looks and tried something unexpected. I also wore this all day and it was so comfortable. It was a struggle trying not to get makeup on that shirt though. Figured this would perfect humpday look for the city especially now that we’re inching into fall.

Style tip: wideleg crop pants can be paired with heels flats or sneakers. Wear with t-shirt and sneaks for a more chill look or off the shoulder top with wedges for a brunch look.

Caffeinated Mornings

Bell sleeve lace top Pleated shorts  Black block heels

Tuesday 8:03 am. No one is downtown and it’s usually super crowded, which I like because now I can be a millennial in peace. And nothing screams Millennial more than taking photos with coffee and flowers (which I bought for my momma, Happy birthday mom!)

I have been looking for a top like this one for a very long time. We could actually say it’s been two years. And I’m still looking for more to add to my collection. What I like, scratch that, Love about them is that it can be both dressy and casual, can be paired with almost anything (my original outfit was the top with crisp white palazzo but they got dirty on the way so we had to improvise. I’m sad, it was such a look.) I also love that they cover my shoulders without actually covering my shoulders. The lace itself is sexy, but when paired with a tank for partial coverage it creates a more elegant vibe.

Style tip: when wearing a full lace top try to keep the accessories to a minimum. Let the lace speak for itself. Lace tops can be worn for casual or formal occasion of course depending on how you wear it. Be on the look out for the Lace edit on my Style Inspo page

Skirt: Here, Blazer: Similar here, Top: Here

This is one of those outfits I wear when I wanna be Blair Waldorf, feeling like I’m part of the upper east side’s Manhattan elite. Truth: when I bought this skirt it was super long, below my knees. With the help of my mother (she has a better eye for straight lines) I cut it shorter to give it a look that’s more me. Although I knew I would never wear it long, it still pained me to chop it off.  This suit just screams early Chanel with a modern twist.

Style tip(this is big): 1. Find a good tailor  2. Find a good tailor! Tailors are underrated and clothes feel much better when they suit your style and personality and your likely to keep it for longer even after they’ve past their trending phase. Of course you’d only want to tailor the clothes you think are worth it, like your more classic pieces such as suits, coats, jeans, and your favorite “Chanel” pencil skirt.

Be sure to check out my style inspo page every Monday for more classic pieces to add to your wardrobe.

Decided to do something new with my blog. Last week I spent my time experimenting with colors and effects on my photos and finally found a style that I will do my absolute best to perfect. Pictured above is my new favorite floral purse. I fell in love with it and just had to add it to my closet. This tiny bag had the power to turn this simple outfit into an elegant and chic look

Shopping tip: purchase a statement piece that you are completely in love with. It will add a boost to any simple outfit.
